Richard, can you tell us how BriefYourMarket.com makes a difference for estate agents?

BriefYourMarket.com helps automate a lot of the communications that estate agents should be doing during a customer journey.

It saves business owners a lot of leg work, but – most importantly – it also looks at the database that is already there to make sure that they're keeping communications going. So, anniversary messages and things like that.

Josh Phegan's been talking about your database and what you’re doing with that database, because a customer is a customer for life, not just a one-off kiss-and-forget transaction, and so we help a lot with that and with cross-selling at stages along the customer journey.

It really makes a difference that people are talking about mortgages during a property transaction or about conveyancing, but it’s all automated, so even if the agent or negotiator forgets, it’s already gone out as a communication – making a massive difference for them in the long term.

 

And what would you say are the things that make BriefYourMarket.com unique – what are your USPs?

One of our strongest USPs is that we’re integrated with all of the main CRM partners – Dezrez, Vebra, Reapit, everybody – bringing the data across and using all of the status changes and dates to automatically trigger communications.

The other strongest one is that we’re in the estate agency industry and know it intimately.

We know what the challenges are for estate agents and we give them solutions in terms of the marketing support that they need – including all of the content, not just the platform.

 

How would you validate that what you’re offering provides a great service for agents?

The results speak for themselves. Dependent on the integration, our agents will get a return-on-investment (ROI) dashboard, where it will say: “you’ve sent this number of communications, you’ve had this number of click-throughs, and you’ve had this number of valuations booked off the back of it.”

For those valuations, we can track them through to instruction. Likewise, any referrals for mortgages that we’ve generated, we’ll see the click-throughs, and – again – they can be validated back as confirmed mortgage appointments.

So, it’s really easy to validate the service that we provide.

 

 

What would you say are the most recent and significant changes you’ve made to the functionality of your software?

We’ve made a lot of changes recently. I’ve been in the business two years and one of my biggest tasks was to examine any customers that left us, what the reasons for it were, and come up with solutions, and we’ve done that as a business.

We found that one of the key reasons why they were leaving us was that they didn’t understand the value that they were getting from our platform, which is why we’ve now got these ROI reports in place. We do ROI reports across a number of our marketing channels, so we can see who our customers are prospecting to, and when they show up as a valuation, we can tell them the true return on investment and that’s a big change.

The other big factor was that they found their system quite complex to use and struggled to come up with the creative side of it, the campaigns themselves. So, what we now do is we have a Campaign Library, where campaigns for agents can be dragged-and-dropped into their email template.

We’re developing our user interface, with some changes already implemented and many more to come over the next few months. All in all, making our system easier to use, and with campaigns and content there for them too, saving agents valuable time.

 

Would you say that your software is appropriate for any agency?

Yes, very much so – large, small, anything. Really, everyone should be communicating with their customers and we’ve heard a lot at the EA Masters about customer experience, and it is an experience and needs to be seen and treated as such by agents.

Our multi-channel marketing platform is appropriate for anybody who has a customer base and sees the value in communicating with that data. And it’s actually appropriate for more than estate agency, it can be applied to any industry, like: insurance, leisure, and hospitality, to name a few.

Property is our stronghold, but we’re now seeing quite a lot of trends towards being part of the customer journey for mortgage brokers.

Any estate or lettings agency is the simple answer, and of any size, BriefYourMarket.com will work for them.
